Position Description
Harris County Tax Assessor-Collectors Office is seeking a dedicated detail-oriented and customer-focused Auto Supervisor to join our team.
Under general supervision the Auto Supervisor WebDealer ensures the efficient and effective operation of the team by supporting staff in meeting daily responsibilities processing WebDealer submissions and coordinating dealer work and inventory pickups. This position is also responsible for setting up new dealers in the WebDealer system responding to inquiries via phone and email and conducting training for new hires to ensure proper orientation and successful performance. Additionally the Auto Supervisor assists the Manager and Assistant Manager with branch operations staff coordination and customer service initiatives. This is an on-site position. Remote work options are not available unless authorized to process the backlog.
About the Tax Assessor-Collector
The Harris County Tax Assessor-Collectors Office is essential for ensuring the proper administration of tax laws and providing vital services to the community. The office plays a key role in local government handling various financial and administrative tasks including :
- Property Tax Collection : Assess and collect property taxes for all eligible commercial and residential property owners and entities. Calculate property taxes based on appraised values and ensure collection and distribution to the appropriate entities.
- Motor Vehicle Services : Manage commercial and residential vehicle registration issue license plates and handle vehicle title transfers including the collection of associated fees.
- Voter Registration : Oversee voter registration within the county issue voter registration certificates and maintain an accurate voter registration roll.
- Additional Revenue Collection : Collecting certain fees fines and revenues related to permits or state mandates depending on the countys needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
Collect and review WebDealer submissions; monitor attendance and tardiness records. Manage emails and phone calls and communicate the daily processing priorities to the team.Update the Daily Attendance Report for morning check-in breaks and lunch periods. Record and submit monthly work hours for the entire team. Enter team production numbers into the LBS database at the end of each day ensuring all check and ACH transactions are balanced.Print and distribute TS-12 forms to the team. Manage supply and office inventory orders as needed. Collect Buyer Tags through WebDealer and prepare FedEx shipments verifying the accuracy of all transactions prior to shipment.Collaborate with management staff to develop and implement new operational procedures for both the team and dealer network.Monitor compliance with state regulations and internal policies.Support training efforts by assisting with onboarding and instruction for new team members.Serve as a central point of contact and distribution hub for WebDealer operations Auto Branch Support and team communication.Provide branch support to the Auto Division when staffing shortages occur assisting with management-level tasks as needed.Other duties as assigned.Harris County is an Equal Opportunity Employer

Requirements
Education and Experience :
A minimum of one (1) year of cash handling data entry and customer service experience.A minimum of one (1) year of supervisory / leadership experience.Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus.Prior experience with vehicle registration titling or licensing services.Must be able to pass state-required RTS training.Must demonstrate the ability to perform duties with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism.Ability to maintain a positive attitude and provide excellent customer service.Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a dynamic environment.Knowledge Skills & Abilities :

Preferences

Work Environment and Physical Demands :
Work is performed primarily in an office setting subject to frequent interruptions with extensive work at a computer workstation.A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on a routine basis.The position may occasionally require extended hours during peak tax periods or special projects.Remote work options are not available unless authorized to process backlog.Sedentary role with light physical effort required; however it may at times involve long periods of standing walking bending reaching stretching climbing lifting up to 30 lbs. or similar activities (e.g. filing delivering sorting).Regular application of basic skills (calculator keyboard hand tools eye / hand coordination).Position Type and Typical Hours of Work :
