Overview :
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our ambulatory team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our medical staff. Pay Range : $17.90 - $19.00
Position Type : Full-time, day shift (about 8am to 4pm)

Essential Duties of a Medical Assistant :
Prepares patient for examinations by rooming patient, taking vital signs, height / weight, reason for visit, screenings, and recording medical historiesPerforms routine lab tests and collects and labels laboratory specimensMaintains accurate patient records in electronic health record (EMR) system as well as any paper files. Assist as needed with locating charts / pulling charts for the next day appointments or printing information from EMR and acquiring reports from outside facilities.Assists with answers and direct phone calls, addressing patient inquiries and questions. Will redirect call to nurse / provider to note and triage urgent matters or other clinical needs.Obtains patients insurance information, demographics, and prior authorizations for testing.Ensures cleanliness of patient rooms, stocks and reorganizes medical supplies and manages inventoryEnsures patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulationsParticipates in staff development and staff meetingsProvide excellent customer service with professionalism and strong interpersonal skills to ensure a positive experience for patients, vendors, and other healthcare team membersPerform other duties assigned by management.Minimum Qualifications of a Medical Assistant :
Education
High School diploma or equivalency
Experience
1 year experience as a medical assistant in an ambulatory care setting, preferred
License / Registration / Certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, required
Certification as a Medical Assistant, preferred
Specialized Knowledge / Skills
Proficient in performing clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, updating patient chart information and recording other medical dataExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families and healthcare team membersFamiliarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and other healthcare technologyCritical thinking, time management, strong communication, problem-solving, and ability to handle various clinical situations.Grider Support Services, LLC. is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
