TEC GROUP IS SEEKING A MECHANICAL ENGINEER FOR OUR LEADING MEP ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY DESIGN CLIENT
This is a hybrid role. It is anticipated that the working days in the office will be done at the San Francisco, CA office. The Mechanical Engineer will work closely with project teams, project managers and clients to implement the designs in both 2D and 3D environments, often working out the practical distribution solutions and coordinating with multiple disciplines. Support Mechanical Design for projects involving industrial and domestic piping, plumbing, HVAC and Fire Protection systems. They also cover a wide range of expertise, such as calculating sizing and routing paths of ducts and pipes and producing drawings from provided design data.
RESPONSIBLITIES
- Perform mechanical design utilizing various engineering software
- Perform HVAC system selections and details designs
- Select and specify mechanical equipment and devices
- Perform submittal and shop drawing reviews; ensure accurate, timely responses to RFI’s.
- Document changes and clarifications to scope, schedule, and budget; advise project team.
- Review data and prepare recommendations, summaries, and cost estimates for consideration by senior engineers and / or managers.
- Write technical reports to document engineering analysis and findings
- Conduct feasibility studies for proposed equipment and systems
- Assist senior engineer(s) in reviewing design and development plans and / or cost estimates.
- Evaluate engineering solutions, equipment and specifications
- Acts as a technical advisor to junior professional staff assigned to the project(s).
- Coordinate, support, and communicate with colleagues across disciplines and receive direction from project leads.
- Attends and is an active participant in the design and construction project team meetings.
- Implement quality assurance procedures during the design process (e.g., Design Criteria submission, Design Checklists, Interdisciplinary Coordination Schedules, etc.)
- Proposes innovative solutions to design problems
- Perform load calculations, detailed engineering design and compliance analysis, and prepare reports.
- Edit standard material and construction specifications to match project requirements as part of the preparation of project specifications.
- Ability to implement design in BIM environment
- May serve as a field engineer during construction by performing site visits and preparing written reports of observations
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 3-6 years of experience working as a Mechanical Engineer.Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical EngineeringProfessional Engineer (PE) Certification preferredLEED AccreditationProficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Revit, BIM 360, Trace 700Strong knowledge of State and local Building CodesGeneral knowledge of contract and construction documentsAbility to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with multiple project deadlinesSALARY IS BASED ON EDUCATION, SKILL SET, AND YEARS OF EXPERIENCE.
