• Job Title: Locum Tenens Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) - General Anesthesia
• Location: Newport News, VA (Virginia healthcare jobs)
• Start Date: February 1, 2026
• Shift Duration: 16-hour days (options for 8, 10, 12, and 24-hour shifts)
• Weekly Hours: 32
• Shift Types: Day shifts required; in-house call and holiday shifts preferred
• Case Types: General, Neuro, Orthopedic, Obstetric (OB), Urology, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Endoscopy
• Charting System: Epic EMR
• Supervision: 1:4 MD to CRNA supervision ratio

CRNA Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia program
• Certified or recertified by the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience as a CRNA
• Eligibility for Virginia CRNA license (licensure support provided)

CRNA Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive pre-anesthesia assessments and obtain patient consent
• Educate patients on anesthesia options and associated risks
• Induce, maintain, and emerge patients from anesthesia for diverse surgical procedures
• Monitor and document patients' physiological status throughout anesthesia care
• Respond to clinical emergencies and perform necessary interventions
• Collaborate with supervising anesthesiologists and the perioperative healthcare team
