About the Role :
As a Job Coach, you will assist participants in obtaining and / or successfully maintaining employment in the community, using a person-centered approach to ensure their personal interests and skill sets are considered.
The Job Coach supports the participant in two phases of the employment journey :
Assessing the individuals interests and skills
Supporting job exploration by visiting workplaces and assessing good fit (the job coach will transport the participant in the job coachs vehicle)Assisting in the development of resume, cover letter, and reference listBuilding job skills and workplace etiquette to support future employment successTraining participant in transportation options in preparation for getting to / from workplace once hiredConducting interview practice, arranging interview, supporting individuals at their interviews as needed, and assisting with follow-up after interviewsNOTE : The job coach will transport the participant in the job coachs vehicle during this phase of support.Job CoachingAssisting with all onboarding training and ongoing compliance training as needed
Assisting in implementation of needed work modifications and any reasonable accommodationsProviding on-site coaching which may include modeling, 1 : 1 support, and / or verbal cuing until the individual is competent and confident in their positionCompleting ongoing check-ins with employer / management to address any concernsNote : The job coach will not transport the individual to / from work during this phase of support.Additional job responsibilities include :
Relationship building Foster deep connections while offering support, understanding, and mentorship to participants, making a true difference in their livesAdvocacy Empower participants to advocate for themselves in the workplaceDocumentation Keep accurate records and notes per participant dailyExpected Outcomes : Within 15 Days :
Acquaint yourself with Stepping Stone's approach to empowering individuals with IDD.Build trust and rapport with your participants to understand their unique needs and challenges.Within 30 Days :
Initiate small, participant-specific changes aimed at improving their self-sufficiency and engagement in the workplace.Develop personalized, short-term goals that align with each participants abilities and aspirations.Within 45 Days :
Monitor and record improvements and milestones achieved by participants and refine your approach as needed.Document tangible progress in participants workplace skills, social interactions, or other predefined metrics.Need to Have :
High school diploma or equivalentValid drivers license, reliable transportation, and proof of current auto insuranceAbility to work in the following areas of CO : Littleton / LakewoodPrevious experience or a strong desire to work with an at-risk populationStrong verbal and written communication skillsNice to Have :
Previous experience in job coaching or as a home health aide or direct-care providerTech-savvy for record-keeping and documentationAbility and willingness to work weekend hours, if neededSchedule :
This position will start with a small number of hours per week (10-15) and then grow as authorizations for services come in. Applicant must be able to be flexible and to start with a small caseload and then grow, as needed, to a larger caseload.In general, schedule will be built on weekdays between the hours of 9-6.Flexible, based on participant needs ideal for university students, parents, retirees, and others with flexible schedules.Location :
