Position Summary : Under general supervision, the LVN supports the delivery of addiction medicine services, including Office-Based Opioid Treatment (OBOT) and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) and Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD). Using a nursing case manager model, the LVN coordinates patient care, provides nursing support, and ensures accurate documentation in compliance with agency, licensing, and funder standards. This position provides leadership and supervision to the Medication Technician team, ensuring proper training and adherence to regulatory protocol for medication self-administration. The Nursing Case Manager / Med Tech Supervisor is also responsible for managing quarantine and infectious disease protocols. This position requires clinical judgment, attention to detail, and a compassionate, trauma-informed approach. May include evenings and weekends. No smoking workplace

- Coordinate care for patients receiving Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) and Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD), including scheduling, follow-up, and patient education.
- Support the completion of patient assessments to evaluate treatment needs and facilitate referrals to withdrawal management or higher levels of care as appropriate.
- Complete GPRA (government reporting documents) and Financial Eligibility Assessments for clients enrolled in the OBOT program, ensuring accuracy and compliance with program requirements.
- Monitor patient progress, track symptoms, and support adherence to medications and individualized treatment plans.
- Coordinate care with internal and external providers, pharmacies, and referral sources to ensure continuity and compliance with OBOT and MAT program requirements.
- Document all services in the appropriate Electronic Health Records (CMBHS, Athena), ensuring complete, accurate, and timely records in compliance with agency, licensing, and funder standards.
- Provide education to patients and families on MAT options, overdose prevention, harm reduction, and recovery resources.
- Perform general clinic LVN duties as needed, such as taking and recording vital signs, administering injections or medications under provider orders, and conducting routine health screenings.
- Ensure infection control and safety standards are followed in all clinical areas.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to support integrated care planning across behavioral health, primary care, and support services.
- Attend required contractual and agency trainings, meetings, and compliance-related sessions.
- Support quality improvement activities and assist with data collection and reporting as needed.
- Provide direct supervision, schedule, and support all medication technicians to ensure proper staffing and compliance with Policy and Procedures and Chapter 564, Chemical Dependency Treatment Facility Rules related to medication.
- Develop and implement all processes related to medication self-administration, including verification of client identity, medication type, dosage, and timing.
- Ensure medication staff receives initial and quarterly training regarding the general provisions for medication management, inventory, storage, self-administration, disposal, and incident / errors in behavioral health settings.
- Ensure accurate documentation of administered, refused, or missed doses in accordance with facility protocols.
- Manage the ordering, receipt, storage, inventory, and disposal of medications.
- Perform and document regular audits of medication inventory and administration records, addressing discrepancies and ensuring ongoing compliance.
- Assist clients in accessing external medical services when indicated, including making referrals and providing health education.
- Manage the execution of quarantine protocols for clients or children diagnosed with or exposed to contagious illnesses and ensure related care and medication procedures are followed.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of all medication-related activities, including quarantine care, in line with public health and facility guidelines.
- Exercise authority in the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, evaluation, training, and professional development of medication technician staff, including making recommendations for promotion or disciplinary action as appropriate.
- Collaborate with nursing, medical, and clinical teams to support coordinated care and respond to medication-related issues.
Education :
Associate's degree in nursing
Certificates and Licenses :
Must have a current RN or LVN license in Texas.
