Job description

Location : New York / New England

Manage customer projects by interacting with internal departments and providing external customers with information and support. Offer operational guidance and support throughout the production of bridge products, from initial sale to final contract closeout, aligning with the company's mission, principles, and financial goals.

Essential Functions :

  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Coordinate with drafting / engineering and production to determine project schedules.
  • Review and approve purchase orders, invoices, and sales contracts to ensure legal compliance.
  • Verify specifications to ensure scope aligns with bids.
  • Keep records of customer communications and update systems accordingly.
  • Respond to Requests for Information from internal departments.
  • Collaborate with the credit department on codes affecting delivery.
  • Review comparison reports.
  • Research and document change orders based on verifiable data.
  • Follow up on collection letters from customers.
  • Process forms and handle extra credit procedures.
  • Ensure final drawings and calculations are sent when necessary.
  • Collaborate on processing claims and back charge forms.
  • Review and document claims, resolving issues with management's approval.
  • Maintain tracking spreadsheets for charges and change orders.
  • Attend job site meetings as directed.
  • Work with customers on-site to minimize back charges.
  • Assist with accounting issues as requested.
  • Prepare reports and correspondence for internal and external use.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a college or technical school.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the steel fabrication industry.
  • Knowledge of AISC, AWS, ASTM, OSHA standards.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Ability to interpret instructions in various formats.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficient in writing reports and correspondence.
  • Basic understanding of geometry and trigonometry.
  • Willingness to travel for training and site visits.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and Google Suite.
  • Fluent in English.
