Staff Accountant
We are seeking a dedicated accountant with experience in payroll or accounting in federal government contracting. If you excel in organization, multitasking, and have strong communication skills, this may be the perfect role for you. This position involves assisting in all aspects of the accounting process including payroll, invoicing, and timekeeping.
Responsibilities
- Administer general bookkeeping and monthly payables processes.
- Manage the workflow of accounts payable from receipt to distribution.
- Perform vendor management and ensure compliance.
- Validate expenditures against hours reporting and contracts.
- Assist with pulling and compiling various reports and financial data.
- Collaborate with staff and partners to collect and classify credit card expenses.
- Ensure expense recognition and job costing in the appropriate period.
- Work with the corporate team on other accounting-related projects and administrative duties.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree (or in progress) in business, accounting, finance, or a related discipline.2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in corporate or government contracting environments.Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or Deltek.Desire to learn and grow in the field of accounting and finance.Experience in billing, collections, accounts receivable analysis, and reconciliation.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with payroll, invoicing, costpoint, Deltek Costpoint, and WAWF.Invoicing by CLIN and / or ACRN, IIP Invoicing.Knowledge of labor hour, travel reimbursements, accounts payable, reconciliation, accounts receivable, reporting, and month-end procedures.Fixed pricing experience.Well-organized with excellent customer service skills and business etiquette.Work Environment
This is a hybrid position requiring three days in the office and two days working from home.

This is a permanent position based out of Chantilly, Virginia.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $80000.00 / yr.
