Overview :
We’re looking for an Industrial Maintenance Electrician who specializes in maintaining, troubleshooting, and modifying control systems on equipment within a steel-focused manufacturing environment. You’ll work on a mix of automated machinery, legacy systems, and facility electrical infrastructure to keep production running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and optimize control systems on CNC machinery, steel-processing equipment, heat-treat systems, and other industrial production assets.
- Modify, upgrade, and install electrical / electronic components, circuits, and wiring to improve equipment performance and reliability.
- Interpret schematics, electrical diagrams, PLC logic, and machine tool electronics to diagnose and resolve system issues.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on machinery and facility electrical distribution systems.
- Assist engineering teams with equipment modifications and support control system upgrades.
- Provide technical direction to contractors and team members as needed.
- Maintain a safe, organized workspace in alignment with plant safety and 5S standards.
Qualifications
5+ years of Industrial Electrician experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial setting—experience with steel, metals, machining, or similar environments preferred.Strong troubleshooting ability across PLCs, drives, sensors, and machine tool controls.Experience with Siemens and Fanuc controls is valuable, but candidates with any major control platform (Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Omron, etc.) are encouraged to apply.Comfortable supporting both modern automation systems and older / legacy / DC equipment.Working knowledge of ladder logic and industrial control fundamentals.High-voltage and electrical distribution experience preferred.Familiarity with AC / DC overhead cranes common in heavy manufacturing.Skilled in conduit installation, wiring, and construction-style electrical work.Ability to read and interpret electrical prints, schematics, and technical documentation.Competent in basic arithmetic and computer-based maintenance systems (CMMS experience is a plus).Self-motivated, technically sound, and able to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
