Designer - Layette (Baby) (New York)

Our client, a successful apparel company, is looking for a Layette (Baby) Designer to join their team in NYC!

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design and development of seasonal collections, aligning with the manager's creative vision.
• Design across multiple categoriesincluding knits and wovenswhile building cohesive collections for internal and external presentations.
• Prepare accurate and detailed technical packages for the Technical Design team.
• Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), ensuring accuracy throughout all stages of development.
• Manage timelines to meet design deadlines and keep data entry organized and up to date.
• Review and approve fabric, trim, and color submissions from factories.
• Communicate effectively to resolve product development challenges as they arise.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings, collaborating closely with internal partners.
• Take direction well and apply constructive feedback to improve outcomes.
• Conduct market research and competitive shopping to identify price points, assortment gaps, and new opportunities.
