Job Title : Mechanical Engineer II

Location : Michigan

Duration : 3+ Months

Job Type : Contract

Rate : $37.47

Note : Hours : M-F, 4pm - 12am. May require weekend work. Interview Process : Initial phone screen, then teams meeting. Candidates who are not local and willing to relocate at their own expense will be considered. Remember this is a temporary assignment to assist in the start-up of the Hemlock Solar plant. Work Schedule : B Shift 4 : 00 PM - 12 : 00 AM, typical 40 hours per week. May require working weekends / holidays or longer days to support project schedule. Top 3 Keywords : 1- Equipment Installation and Troubleshooting 2- Mechanical Engineering (BS required) 3- AutoCAD / SolidWorks Proficiency

Top Required Skills :

  • Education : Bachelor's degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering required
  • Experience : Minimum 2+ years hands-on engineering experience; 5+ years preferred
  • Focus : Equipment installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning (not design-focused)

Must-Have Skills :

  • Proven experience in equipment startup, installation, and debugging in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and SolidWorks

  • Key Responsibilities :

  • Support equipment installation, startup, and commissioning in a solar wafer manufacturing facility
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, controls, facilities, operations) to resolve equipment issues
  • Troubleshoot and modify mechanical systems for improved performance and reliability
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data to guide engineering decisions
  • Contribute to root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts
  • Develop or update SOPs, job aids, and process documentation
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards and operational procedures
  • Requirements Summary :

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering (required)
  • 2 5+ years hands-on mechanical engineering experience in manufacturing or industrial settings
  • Strong analytical and technical troubleshooting capabilities
  • Effective communicator and collaborative team player
