Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $2,150 per week in Carbondale, IL

Candidates must work Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The unit has 25 beds, including 11 private rooms and 7 semi-private rooms. The nursing ratio is 5 : 1 on days and 5-6 : 1 on nights. Nurses may occasionally have one total care patient. The patient population includes a high number of stroke patients. The unit handles most strokes that do not require TPA, as well as comfort care or hospice patients. Post-operative patients include those with amputations, drains, chest tubes, and feeding tubes. Nurses administer heparin drips, perform wound care, and manage altered mental status conditions. CIWA patients, acute kidney injury cases, dialysis, and COPD exacerbations are also treated. RNs must be available to work three 12-hour shifts every other weekend and every other holiday. Candidates must be able to start immediately and perform duties without extensive orientation.
