About the Role
The Associate Engineer provides advanced support for service requests and projects across servers, networks, workstations, and cloud systems. You’ll handle escalated technical issues, assist with deployments, and help implement solutions that make our clients’ technology environments more secure, stable, and efficient.
This position bridges the gap between the Service Desk and Engineering teams, making it ideal for a technician ready to take the next step in their career.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide second-tier support for Microsoft environments, business applications, and core IT services (DNS, antivirus, MFA, password / security tools).
- Troubleshoot and support network devices — routers, firewalls, switches, access points, and more.
- Support and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and data archiving solutions.
- Handle escalated tickets from the Service Desk and ensure issues are resolved quickly and clearly communicated.
- Build Bills of Materials (BOMs) for new client solutions and assist with deployments.
- Maintain and update documentation for systems and network changes.
- Use RMM, PSA, and automation tools to monitor and improve service delivery.
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours client needs.
- Continuously expand technical expertise through personal and team training plans.
Qualifications
Strong understanding of Windows Server and workstation environments, networking, and IT security best practices.Experience with firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs, and wireless access points.Familiarity with backup and recovery tools, remote monitoring systems, and ticketing platforms (e.g., ConnectWise).Excellent communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.Customer-first mindset with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.Preferred Experience :
2+ years in a Tier 2 / Systems Administrator / Network Engineer role (preferably at an MSP).Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, MCSA, or CCNA.What Success Looks Like
