Job Summary
The Electrophysiology device technologist helps to facilitate seamless care as needed from referral to follow-up for patients who are candidates for EP devices. Works directly with EP team and device team. Will work directly with device RN and / or LPN to facilitate device clinic assignments and work flow. Works with the patient and family alongside device nurse to provide teaching, education and support throughout the process. Assist in leading the facility to accreditation compliance and regulatory alignment, improvement on national and state / local public-reported measures, focused clinical reporting, and compliance. Ensures maintenance of established electronic database, and submits patient demographic, medical and progress report information within designated time frames as required by local, State, and federal agencies. Participates in the department quality improvement program and strives to optimize patient outcomes through patient education and clinical expertise. Specific responsibilities will include assurance that all devices are being followed in the office and remotely alongside device nurse. Obtaining all appropriate patient history at visits and recognizing any and all symptoms that may be related to the functioning of the device so that necessary programming is performed by device nurse / coordinator.
Qualifications
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Experience : 2+ years device experience preferred; 5+ years outpatient cardiology clinic preferred
Licensure : CMA certification required for Tennessee
Certifications : BLS required

Has ability to analyze information and solve problems. Demonstrates accuracy and an attention to detail. Demonstrates ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences clearly and concisely orally. Has ability to maintain confidences. Exhibits current clinical knowledge and expertise for designated patient populations. Accountable for continued competence in nursing practice and clinical outcomes in accordance with current evidenced-based practice guidelines, ability to work as a team, and commitment to quality, patient safety and overall excellence in evidence based clinical care.
