The Role
This role is responsible for assisting in all operational duties of the Community Manager, including reporting, rent processing, leasing, marketing, and overseeing the community and associates in the Community Manager's absence.
The incumbent in this role must possess a high degree of professionalism and positive engagement for our residents and the workforce.

Qualifications
2+ years’ experience as an Assistant Community Manager.Experience with the DC inclusionary zoning program is highly desired.Excellent communication skills and a dedication to customer service.Solid track record of bookkeeping and rent collection.Thorough understanding of landlord / tenant law.Strong understanding of Fair Housing Laws.Superior interpersonal skills : ability to get along with diverse personalities; tactful; mature, flexible.Resourceful and organized.Solid computer knowledge, Windows (Word, Excel), internet and e-mail.Working knowledge of Yardi Voyager Property Management software.Key Accountabilities
Resident Relations and Customer Service, including maintaining A+ service standards.Respond to complaints, questions, and requests in a timely manner and take appropriate action to resolve issues.Serve as a resource center for residents on matters affecting community living and timely rent payments.Organize and execute resident appreciation and retention events.Maintain confidential resident files.Assist with leasing duties, including touring prospective residents.Fiduciary responsibilities : handle property income (collects, posts, deposits rents and security deposits).Review resident files and ledger records to determine unpaid balances; communicate with residents and enforce lease terms for delinquencies.Assist with monthly projection reporting, inspect vacancies, make-ready apartments and models; inspect the property for policy violations, repairs, and landscaping needs.Meet regularly with Community Manager and Regional Manager to discuss performance.Other duties as assigned by Community Manager.Staff Leadership : oversee operations and staff in Community Manager’s absence; support Leasing Consultants and ensure Fair Housing guidelines are followed.Manage compliance file maintenance under the direction of Compliance and Community Manager where applicable.Adhere to Property Management Rules, Regulations and Guidelines; conduct all business in accordance with company policies and Fair Housing, ADA, and other real estate laws.Follows established eviction procedures, including notices, eviction actions, and representation in court when required.Physical Demands & Working Conditions
