Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position focused on scrub duties, requiring ACLS and BLS certifications and a compact or ND RN license.
Responsibilities
Position is in a cardiac cath lab within an acute care settingLevel 2 trauma center environmentWork schedule is Monday through Friday, 0700-1530 with on-call rotationsFlexible shift options including 8- or 10-hour shifts as assigned by the team leadOn-call required one weeknight per week and every third weekend (24-hour call), plus every other holidayCall response time is 20 minutesThree labs with an average of six cases per dayCommon procedures include emergent revascularizations, LHC, RHC, peripheral interventions, cardioversion, device placement, pericardiocentesis, and moreScrub role only; panning handled by a radiology techUses Epic for charting, with Philips Xper, Siemens C-Arm, IABP, Impella, Shockwave, Laser, IFR / FFR, IVUS, and Rotapro equipmentOne-week unit-specific orientation providedWork as part of a four-person team, performing scrub-only duties during invasive cardiac proceduresCardiologists are available 24 / 7 for support, with intensivist coverage in-houseScrubs are provided; dedicated work shoes are required and hospital-designated shoes are providedLead protection will be provided if traveler does not have their ownCandidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility and may not have been employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity in the last yearAll requested time off must be submitted upfront; no more than seven days off allowed during a 13-week contractPersonal lock required for locker useHoliday, call, and weekend coverage is required as scheduledRequirements
Active ND or compact RN license required at time of considerationMinimum 1 year of relevant cath lab experienceCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications requiredExperience in scrub duties for cardiac cath lab proceduresFamiliarity with equipment such as IABP, Impella, Shockwave (preferred), Laser, IFR / FFR, IVUS, RotaproAbility to provide two professional references : one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last three yearsRadiation badge required and must be in hand prior to startCopy of driver's license required for considerationBenefits
