About The Position
Job Title : Radiologic Technologist

License : ARRT Radiography registration required
Certifications : IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation required if working in Illinois
Must-Have : Approved CPR or BLS certification within 90 days
Description :
Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
Minimum of 2 years of experience required.
Performs diagnostic radiographic, portable, c-arm, and fluoroscopic procedures.
Reviews patients' clinical history, ensuring that appropriate orders are placed and labs are within range as needed, reviewing with a radiologist as necessary.
Provides patient education.
Selects and operates imaging equipment, image capture devices, and accessories to successfully perform procedures.
Positions patients to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest while respecting patient ability and comfort.
Initiates basic life support when necessary.
Determines radiographic technique and exposure factors.
Follows ALARA principles through accurate exposure factors and radiographic techniques.
Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
Reports and documents XR / FL safety incidents and adverse events per protocol.
Processes images and reviews them for proper identification and quality control.
Uses radiology information systems, completes all required records and reports, and submits images and data for physician review and interpretation.
Assists with medical record and image sharing as necessary.
Documents all information pertinent to XR / FL procedures in the electronic medical record, including medication reconciliation.
Provides practical instruction for radiography students and partners.
Applies principles of patient safety during procedures, including assisting and transporting patients.
Operates mobile radiologic equipment in the operating room, emergency room, or at patients' bedsides.
Assists a radiologist in fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations.
Prepares contrast media and assists in administration.
Provides instruction and expert training to new technologists.
Adjusts and coordinates patient and staff schedules as needed.
Possesses expert-level knowledge of electronic medical records, PACS, and imaging equipment.
Holiday coverage may be required.
