We're hiring a Relationship Associate, and we're open to candidates at Level II or III. We have one opening and are looking for the right fit based on your skills, experience, and potential impact.
Mission Bank is seeking a Relationship Business Banker to join our Ventura County Business Banking Center! The Relationship Associate (RA) works closely with assigned Relationship Manager(s) in managing new and existing loan relationships. The RA assists with gathering required financial information, creates and maintains customer files, and generates routine correspondence. The RA handles moderately complex customer issues and problems, interfaces with outside vendors when needed, and provides superior customer service when interfacing with customers. May obtain initial credit information, do service bureau / direct credit checks and ensure sufficient collateral. May assist Relationship Managers in disbursement of funds, loan extensions, interest calculations, and billings. The Relationship Associate will also identify cross-sell opportunities and make referrals to the appropriate person or department.
Essential Responsibilities for Level II, include, but are not limited to the following :
- Promptly respond to all loan related customer service requests either via phone, in person or via email.
- Set up credit files and ensure accuracy and completeness of information included in said files. All necessary financial, organizational / monitoring information (Articles of Incorporation, insurance etc.), and document checklists are on file prior to sending a loan for documentation.
- Pull property profiles using the title company website.
- Order preliminary title report from Title Company of Relationship Manager's choice and open escrow as needed.
- Order loan documents in conjunction with the approval and follow up with Note Department for timely completeness and accuracy.
- Ensuring error free document signing, collecting fees (when applicable), and verifying existence and collection of any past due interest or payments outstanding (typically on renewed or extended lines of credit that have already matured).
- Return signed loan docs to Note Department and send Deed of Trust for recording (if applicable).
- Follow with Relationship Manager for Lender's Instructions to Title Co.
- Follow up and obtain recording information and forward to Note Department.
- Provide the Relationship Manager with a 90-day maturity report and a trial balance on the 5th of each month.
- Work with Note Department and Relationship Manager to set-up tickler and maintain accurate tickler reports of all required loan conditions / covenants.
- Scan loan files into system and create CIF numbers
- Provide notary services and assist with document signing.
- Advanced knowledge and expertise in title insurance and endorsements
- Sign on behalf of the Bank for escrow instructions
- Learns and masters ability to underwrite extensions using Interim Credit Authorizations
- Proactively contact borrowers to insure timely receipt of loan payments or financial data for renewals or covenant monitoring.
- Opens new Demand Deposit accounts for loan customers.
- Initial loan documents with customers take out.
- Established signing / approval authorities for Loan advances and payments
- Work with RM on clearing any tickler / covenant exceptions.
- Prepare for RM's review and approval instructions to title company.
- All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements :
At least 3 years banking relationship support experience.Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and employees.Ability to deal with problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.Basic knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, and other Bank operational policies.Basic understanding of financial statements and tax returns.Compensation :
Target Salary for Level II : $73,000 / annually, depending on experience.
Target Salary for Level II : $83,000 / annually, depending on experience.
