To serve as instructor for the College, including duties of teaching, developing materials, advising students, and providing assistance to the administration through committees and other activities.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
Faculty teaching associate degree courses not designed for transfer to the baccalaureate degree : bachelor’s degree in the teaching discipline, or associate’s degree and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline. To teach certificate only, credit or non-credit, courses, a faculty member must hold the following credentials : An associate’s degree with demonstrated competencies in the discipline / field OR have college or specialized training AND provide documented work experience in the field, or, where appropriate, documentation of licensure or certification in the field. Demonstrated knowledge of, and competency with, Microsoft (MS) Windows operating system and current MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, etc.). Demonstrated knowledge of, and competency with, MS Windows OS. Must have a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience teaching information technology (IT), networking, or computer service-related coursework is desired. Previous teaching experience in IT is a plus especially if it includes experience in a learning management system (LMS) such as Desire2Learn (D2L). Knowledge of principles and procedures pertaining to higher education, especially teaching methodologies. Knowledge of standard business practices and accepted protocol for areas of responsibility. Knowledge of college mission, goals and objectives and ability to relate these to areas of responsibility. Ability to supervise and coordinate the classroom and related instructional activities of students. Ability to establish good working relationships with alumni, businesses, students, faculty, and others in the college community. Ability to interpret and apply all related laws.
Employee will receive minimal supervision provided by the Dean of Workforce Development and Continuing Education in the performance of teaching and advising responsibilities. Employee is expected to demonstrate independence and discretion in teaching practice and student advising.
Additional Comments
Teaching environments include classroom and lab, face-to-face in the local prisons, and dual-credit programs. Local travel to business / industry and community campuses required. Some short-term travel may be required for professional meetings. Professional development may require some overnight stays. Teaching locations include State, Federal, and Juvenile correctional facilities, high schools, community campuses, and industry.
