Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline : RN Start Date : 11 / 03 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele position requiring a WI or compact license, basic arrhythmia skills, and recent Epic EMR experience. Responsibilities Position is based in the Med / Surg Tele unit of a hospital setting Patient population includes post-surgical, medical-surgical, and telemetry cases, including specialized care for post-mastectomy and urinary diversion procedures Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week, 19 : 00-07 : 30, with every other weekend required Travelers are the first to float and may be assigned to multiple units or locations based on staffing needs Epic EMR is used and current experience is required Telemetry monitoring and arrhythmia interpretation are required Responsibilities include monitoring and caring for patients undergoing specialized procedures such as free flap monitoring after mastectomy and providing education for post-surgical self-care Pass / fail telemetry exam must be completed before starting, with up to two attempts allowed before additional remediation is required Orientation typically lasts about one week and may have rotating start dates based on department schedules Travelers must have an active telemetry competency on file per calendar year Submission of references is not required for consideration Holiday coverage may be required according to unit guidelines First-time travelers may be accepted on select units, subject to review Requirements Active WI RN license or compact state RN license in hand at time of consideration BLS certification through the American Heart Association is required Minimum two years of recent acute care Med / Surg Tele experience within the last three years Basic arrhythmia skills and ability to pass a telemetry exam prior to starting, with strict pass / fail criteria Epic EMR experience preferred within the last 12 months Candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the primary work site Locals are not accepted for this assignment Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-622398.
