Clearance Requirement : Candidates must possess at least an interim Secret clearance and be eligible to obtain and maintain a full Secret clearance

Work Location : Springfield, VA

Work Schedule (On Site) : Requires five (5) days onsite at the customer's facility

Position Overview : One of our Department of State contracts is seeking an Intermediate Tableau Administrator that has a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and is detail oriented and organized. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring server activity / usage statistics to identify possible performance issues / enhancements.

This role supports the administration and development of the Tableau platform by managing user access, data sources, and visual assets; providing incident and problem management; assisting in dashboard development; and working closely with cybersecurity to ensure a secure and scalable environment. The position also contributes to capacity planning and the creation of best practices and standards for Tableau use across the organization.

Requirements

  • Collaborate with business teams to manage user and group permissions, workbooks, projects, database views, data sources, and data connections in Tableau
  • Provide incident and problem management support for Tableau-related issues
  • Support capacity planning and scaling efforts for the Tableau platform
  • Develop, document, and enforce standards and best practices for Tableau development and administration
  • Assist in designing and developing workbooks and dashboards to meet business needs
  • Partner with cybersecurity teams to ensure a secure and compliant Tableau environment

Required Qualifications :

  • Candidate must be a United States Citizen and present proof of Citizenship, if selected
  • Bachelor's degree in the IT field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in system administration
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in Tableau Server administration
  • In-depth knowledge of Tableau Server architecture and components
  • Proven experience with Tableau Server maintenance, upgrades, and patching
  • Experience automating deployment of data sources and workbooks across Tableau environments
  • Proficient in Tableau Desktop, with strong skills in troubleshooting and performance tuning of workbooks
  • Experience with Tableau command line utilities and performance tuning
  • Solid understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, load balancers, and network firewalls as they relate to Tableau services
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and Agile development methodologies
  • Bonus Qualifications :

  • Experience working in cloud computing environments, particularly Azure Government
  • Background in Information Assurance or cybersecurity compliance
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially in fast-paced, matrixed environments
  • Familiarity with Tableau's Data Management and Advanced Management add-on tools
