Patient Access Representative

Patient Access Representatives deliver what matters most to our patients and their families, ensure exceptional experiences and thrive on making positive impacts in the community. As a Patient Access Representative, you will pre-register and greet patients, verify information and collect copays for diagnostic services and pre-register patients for outpatient services. Your role is essential to ensuring a seamless model of access for patients, physicians and family members. A caregiver in this position works nights from 11 : 00PM - 7 : 00AM, with rotating weekend requirements. Shifts will be 8 or 12 hours, as needed. Stow Health and Wellness Center will be the primary work location, but floating to the Tallmadge Medical Office Building will be required, as needed. A caregiver who excels in this role will :

  • Perform registration and obtain information about demographics, insurance, medical and financial.
  • Crosstrain to staff all areas of patient access, such as front desk, admitting office, ED and cash register.
  • Function as a Super User and act as a resource for training of new caregivers.
  • Provide registration and cash collection access in Epic.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include :

  • High School Diploma or GED and two years of experience in a customer facing role OR an Associate's Degree and one year of experience OR a Bachelor's Degree
  • Knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to understand physician orders OR completion of course within one year
  • Basic PC software application knowledge and ability to use multiple data systems

    • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Ability to work with physical records or operate a computer or other office equipment.
  • In some locations, ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
  • In some locations ability to move up to 25 lbs.

    • Personal Protective Equipment :

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required

    • Pay Range Minimum hourly : $15.75 Maximum hourly : $21.65

A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education.
