About The Position

Job Title : Special Education Teacher

Location : Thornton, CO (split between Stukey Elementary and Hunters Glen Elementary)

Schedule : Full-time, 5x8 Day Shifts (8 : 00 AM – 4 : 00 PM)

Contract Length : 13 weeks (October 1 – December 30, 2025)

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students in a structured autism program. The teacher will be responsible for creating an inclusive learning environment, delivering individualized instruction, and collaborating with staff and families to meet student needs.

Key Responsibilities

Provide direct instruction and support for students in special education programs.

Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student goals.

Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles.

Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate updates with families and staff.

Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers.

Create a positive classroom environment that promotes student engagement, growth, and independence.

Support behavioral interventions and structured learning strategies for students with autism.

Additional Information

Position will be shared between two elementary schools within the district.

Full-time, school-day schedule.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

Active Colorado CDE Special Education (SPED) License required at the time of submission.

Previous experience working in a structured autism program strongly preferred.

Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
