Must-Have : Previous charge experience preferred. Experience with patient ratio of 5-6.

Description :

Cross posted for Med Surg Rehab RN - Acute Inpatient Rehab setting.

This position requires 2 years of experience.

First-time travelers are accepted.

Floating is required within skill set as needed.

Weekends are required, with 4-5 shifts per contract.

Patients go to 3 hours of therapy during the day (8 AM - 3 PM).

Time management is needed to get patients to appointments on time.

Multitasking with medication administration and treatments is essential.

The physical component includes assisting patients in and out of bed to the bathroom or wheelchair.

This population is considered a high falls risk.

Patients are taken from all units.

Skillset includes management of heparin drip, CAPD, tracheostomy, G-tube, and wound vac.

Additional skills necessary are assistance with feeding tube care, Foley catheter removal, pain assessment, and management of various conditions.

Awareness of national patient safety goals and core measures is required.

Collaboration with interdisciplinary support teams is part of the role.

The patient age group includes adults and geriatrics.

The daily census for the unit is approximately 18 patients.

The number of available beds in the unit is 48.
