Our client, a global law firm with offices throughout the US, seeks a full-time paralegal with at least 3 years of California state and federal court litigation experience to join their maritime and insurance teams in their San Francisco office. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious paralegal to join a very busy and growing global law firm.
The annualized salary range for this role is $85,000-$130,000. However, this is contingent upon level of experience, practice group, location and other job-related factors permitted by law.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft pleadings and some motions, including all trial and pretrial filings, for state and federal courts
- Draft discovery responses, including production of documents
- Subpoena documents (including medical records) from third parties
- Review and summarize answers to discovery
- Review and summarize documents, including medical records
- Draft medical chronologies
- Organize documents productions
- Prepare exhibits for motions, depositions and trials
- Coordinate expert appointments and assignments
- Research (Westlaw) and other online sources
- Perform jury verdict searches
- Electronic filing
Required Experience
Must have 3+ years of litigation experience, particularly insurance defense litigationMust have experience with meeting billable hour requirementsAn inquisitive mind, excellent organizational skills and attention to detailExceptional interpersonal and communications skillsA thorough working knowledge of the Federal and California court systemsProficiency in the Microsoft Office SuiteParalegal Certificate from an ABA-accredited program preferred or relevant years of experience.
