Entry Level Accounting Clerk

Job Title: Accounting Clerk/Administrative Assistant

Job description: We are looking for an independent and responsible person who will track invoices and receivables while supporting the accounting department and helping with office management. They will perform a range of general clerical, accounting and bookkeeping support functions.

Job Responsibilities include:

• Process cash receipts on a daily basis
• Mail monthly accounts receivable statements
• Research and resolve accounts receivable issues
• Daily code and enter accounts payable invoices into the accounting system
• Review, code and enter employee monthly expense reports
• Generate and mail accounts payable checks on a timely basis
• Analyze discrepancies and unpaid account payable invoices
• Scan documents for uploading into accounting software
• Maintain vendor files
• Assist with month end/year end accounting processes
• Maintain and stock office supplies
• Answer phone system and route calls
• Greet visitors
• Process and sort daily mail
• Other projects as assigned

Skills & Requirements:

• 2 years of accounting work experience or previous training
• Highly organized with the ability to multi-task
• Knowledge of general accounts payable and receivable processes/procedures
• Excellent attention to detail
• Maintain confidentiality, honesty and consistency
• Ability to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently
• Excellent communication skills and professional approach
• Willingness to learn and adapt
• Excellent computer skills with MS Office
• Experience with Great Plains a plus
