Join World Vision's Security, Safety & Resilience (SSR) team as a remote intern and play a key role in protecting staff and programs in some of the world's most challenging contexts. Our mission is simple yet vital : to create a resilient, secure, and compassionate organization where individuals feel safe, supported, and empowered-no matter where they serve.
The Security Operations team ensures that our field teams implement good physical security mitigation measures and meet World Vision's Core Security Requirements (CSR). We provide expert guidance, practical tools, and templates to help reduce risks and keep our people safe while continuing life-changing work in fragile environments.
As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience developing and deploying Microsoft-based tools and templates that make security processes simpler and compliance easier. Your work will directly support security managers in their crucial roles, helping them protect staff and programs-all while collaborating with a passionate global team from the comfort of your home.
What You'll Do :
- Redesign & Pilot a Risk Assessment Tool : Get hands-on experience improving security processes by reimagining our current risk assessment template. You will review existing tools, gather feedback, and assist in designing a new online format. From building and testing a prototype to running a pilot and collecting feedback, you will play a crucial role in developing a tool that simplifies and enhances security compliance.
- Analyse & Improve System Connections : Dive into how our systems work together by conducting a compatibility study. You will identify opportunities to streamline data collection and reporting, and present creative options for using data across multiple platforms to enhance insights and decision-making.

Location : Remote within the USYou must be physically located in one of the following states where WVI is registered as an employer : Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia (Washington D.C.), Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.Appropriate Fields of Study / Majors : Information Systems, Data Analytics, Information Security, Engineering, Business Analytics, Machine Learning, Statistics, or related fields.Internship Cohort Dates : 26 January - 24 April 2026.Stipend : This internship is unpaid, but all US-based interns receive a monthly stipend of $800.Hours : Full-time and part-time opportunities are available (20-40 hours / week).Eligibility
All candidates must meet the following requirements :
At least 18 years of age.Must be legally authorized to work in the United States (e.g., U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or F-1 student visa holder with valid work authorization) and possess a valid U.S. Social Security Number.Able to commit to at least 20 hours per week for the entire internship period : 26 January - 24 April 2026.Current student or recent graduate from an undergraduate / graduate programme (within 2 years).Adhere to World Vision International's Christian Statement of Faith.Willingness to use own electronic devices for internship purposes, and disposition to let WVI install endpoint security software in those devices.Applicant Types Accepted :
