Overview

The Land & Legal Rights Coordinator for GTC is responsible for managing all activities related to the acquisition of land and property rights for electrical transmission lines, substation, fiber optic communication, and generation projects. The individual requires exceptional skills in creative negotiations, tenacity, and the ability to work in a professional manner with highly varied individuals and groups. Knowledge of real estate fundamentals and business law, including Georgia\'s eminent domain (condemnation) law, is imperative to ensure all necessary property rights meet all corporate, legal, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Administers, coordinates, and recommends land purchases with a total acquisition budget between $1,000,000 – $5,000,000 per coordinator per year (approximately 28% of GTC\'s total annual capital construction budget).
• Supervises the activities of staff, contract, legal, and professional services.
• Provides training, mentoring, and knowledge transfer to staff Land Agents.
• Proficient in the use and training of the GTC LION app.
• Coordinates and documents public meeting requirements and legal proceedings.
• Represents the corporation as an expert witness involving the acquisition of land and property rights.
• Provides counsel to other departments regarding real estate matters upon request.
