Job description

Summary

  • Operate washers, extractors, and dry tumblers.
  • Determine priority of loads according to work flow needs in final process areas, and route laundry to final process areas.
  • Load and unload washers, extractors, and dryers.
  • Select proper formula, cycle, or setting on washers, extractors, and dryers.
  • Maintain proper cleanliness and water content of each load for quality control and further processing.
  • Position, handle, and store tables, carts, conveyors, extractor containers, and other equipment used to handle laundry.

Responsibilities

  • Open laundry bags and dump soiled laundry onto sort conveyor.
  • Manually sort individual pieces of soiled linen, inspect for foreign objects, and place into appropriate crates or containers according to pre-determined classifications.
  • Transfer crates of soiled linen from sorting area to storage area, conveyor loader or washer chutes.
  • Load soiled linen onto conveyor loader.
  • Load machines chutes with correct amount of soiled linen from classification crates or soiled linen carts.
  • Wheel empty crates or containers into position at sorting lines.
  • Count and mark laundry.
  • Collect and dispose of waste materials.
  • Clean assigned areas of work and equipment.
  • Report items for repair.
  • Required Qualifications

  • Routinely move items weighing up to 50 lbs; must demonstrate good communication skills; must be able to follow instructions.
  • Desired Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Work Schedule

    Wednesday through Sunday : 9 : 00 AM to 5 : 30 PM

    PLEASE NOTE : This is a year-round, 40 hour per week position.
