Rn Director Of Risk Management
We are seeking an RN Director of Risk Management, also known as the RN Director of Clinical Risk Management or RN Director of Risk and Compliance. The RN Director of Risk Management is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing the Risk Management Program across multiple locations in the area to control and minimize loss while protecting the organization's assets. The RN Director of Risk Management coordinates the program across multiple departments and medical staff, actively supporting performance improvement activities to ensure high-quality patient care. In addition, the RN Director of Risk Management will collaborate with safety and security personnel and participate in risk-related initiatives to strengthen organizational safety.

Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to) :
Lead hospital-wide initiatives to reduce medical errors, adverse events, and patient harm while evaluating incidents and reviewing patient complaintsEnsure compliance with accreditation bodies such as The Joint Commission and CMS while managing adverse event reporting and working with legal counsel on liability issuesOversee the incident reporting system, investigates root causes, analyzes data trends, and prepares reports for executives and the boardDevelop and enforce hospital risk management policies, train staff on safety and compliance, and collaborate with department heads for consistencyCoordinate with insurers on malpractice and liability claims, reviews coverage, and assists with negotiations and settlementsAct as a bridge between nursing staff, administration, and legal teams while serving on patient safety and compliance committeesAdvise senior leadership on organizational risk exposure, prevention strategies, and overall safety initiativesQualifications Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have :
Bachelor of Science in Nursing or healthcare related field preferredRegistered Nurse licensed in KansasFive years clinical and / or management experience in a multidisciplinary health care setting which includes a minimum of two years of inpatient experienceExperience in risk management and / or professional liability claims management preferred.Should be knowledgeable about current State Laws and Regulations as applicable to facilityAdditional Qualifications That Are a Plus :
