Job Responsibilities :
Prepares / processes requisitions for Workforce Development Department
Prepares memos, as directed, for all payroll and expenditure transfers
Prepares / processes all budget amendments for Career Development Division
Invoices sponsoring agencies / businesses for tuition for students enrolled in Workforce Development programs
Prepares contracts for self-pay students enrolled in Workforce Preparation programs
Prepares disbursement memo to Treasurer’s Office for student loan checks and Pell Grant as directed by Financial Aid consultant
Prepares and balances financial report for all Workforce Development programs
Prepares bank deposits for all monies received from all programs
Keeps supervisor of Workforce Development apprised of actual or potential problems in student and vendor accounts
Maintains and accounting of actual revenue received for each individual Workforce Development program
Maintains inventory of all Workforce Development program textbooks
Responds to telephone inquiries concerning Workforce Development programs
Assists with all phases of registration for Workforce Development programs
Other duties as assigned that are relevant to the civil service job description for this title
Job Qualifications
Minimum Civil Service Qualifications :
There is no civil service examination required for this position for the duration of the NY HELPS Program. Candidates must meet the minimum civil service qualifications for a NY HELPS appointment as follows :
A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered two (2) year college or university with an Associates Degree in Accounting or Business and one (1) year experience in the maintaining of financial records; OR;
B) Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and three (3) years experience in the compilation and maintenance of financial records; OR;
C) Seven (7) years experience in the compilation and maintenance of financial records; OR;
D) An equal combination of training and experience as defined by the limit of (A), (B) and (C).

Ability to work well with others on a team in a busy environment
Tech-savvy candidate preferred
