Description :

The position is for a Registered Nurse in a PCU environment.

The nurse will work 3x12 night shifts.

The unit consists of 26 beds and provides critical care step-down services.

Patients may be received from various areas, such as the emergency department and ICU.

The patient population includes adult acute care patients who require specialized care.

All patients receive continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring.

Responsibilities include airway management and acute BIPAP support.

The nurse will care for patients with arterial lines and central lines.

Management of titrated medicated IV infusions is also necessary.

Patient care services vary widely based on individual patient needs.

The team is expected to adapt quickly and provide compassionate care using a multi-disciplinary approach.

The facility is a tertiary care hospital with a staffed bed capacity of 528.

Scrub colors are any combination of navy and white.

The patient ratio during the day is 3 : 1, and during the night, it is 4 : 1.

During weekends, the patient ratio is 3 : 1.

Floating to ICU or medical-surgical units may be required.

Interdisciplinary support is available from various service teams.

The focus area includes a diverse range of medical diagnoses, especially pulmonary conditions.

Specialized procedures and equipment may be utilized within the unit as needed.
