Job description

Overview

Job Details

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks on equipment daily and weekly.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues on a daily basis and work to reduce downtime on all mechanical equipment.
  • Operate and work with 480 volt 3 phase electricity and understand pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical automated process control systems, PLC operations, inverters, and basic electrical concepts.
  • Demonstrate mechanical skills and the ability to weld using appropriate tools.
  • Be willing to travel for advanced training classes and work up to 5-6 days per week with overtime.
  • Be able to stoop, bend, climb ladders, and work overhead; lift up to 50 lbs; work in cold or hot temperatures; follow instructions and be dependable and safety oriented.
  • Maintenance Generalist must possess a minimum of 6 months of mechanic work / experience and / or education documented in the work / education history section of the application (can be a combination of employer(s) / education, if equals at least 6 months).
  • Maintenance Scale Tech must possess a minimum of 6 months of electronic maintenance work / experience and / or education documented in the work / education history section of the application (can be a combination of employer(s) / education, if equals at least 6 months).

Qualifications

  • Must have basic computer knowledge / skills.
  • Must have knowledge and ability to work with 480 volt 3 phase electricity.
  • Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical automated process control systems, PLC operations, inverters, and basic electricity.
  • Must possess mechanical skills and perform preventive maintenance tasks daily and regularly.
  • Must be willing to travel for advanced training.
  • Must have good troubleshooting skills and be safety oriented (learning and following Core Safety mandates).
  • Must be cooperative, follow instructions carefully, and be willing to work as part of a team.
  • Compensation : Pay based on experience / skill. Range $21.35 hr. to $29.95 / hr.

  • Accepting Rehires : Yes
  • 3 x Rule : If you have worked for Tyson Foods 3 or more times you are ineligible for rehire.
  • Rehire waiting period : 6 months or 180 days.
  • The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
