High School Foreign Language Teachers at New Heights Academy Charter School are responsible for creating and delivering impactful language learning experiences that promote both academic and social growth. They collaborate with the school community to create a supportive, structured, and engaging environment for each student.

Responsibilities
Content Knowledge and Planning
- Demonstrate expertise in the foreign language subject area and develop lesson plans that are clear, logical, and sequential.
- Integrate technology and available resources to make topics and activities meaningful, adapting instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
- Plan collaboratively with specialists to ensure differentiated instruction for all students.
Instructional Strategies
Link language content and skills with students' prior knowledge and future learning goals.Employ a variety of instructional techniques, such as modeling, cooperative learning, and reading / writing activities to make language learning engaging and accessible.Use questioning and active learning strategies to maximize student participation and foster language acquisition.Academic Assessment
Use diverse assessment methods to monitor and adjust instruction based on student progress.Keep organized records of student achievement and use data to drive instructional decisions.Provide meaningful feedback and use grading practices that accurately reflect student progress.Student Communication and Rapport
Use clear, effective language in both oral and written communication with students.Set clear learning goals, model respect, and show genuine interest in students' well-being.Build positive interactions with students in various school settings and seek insight into student interests.Classroom Management
Enforce the school's student behavior policy and communicate behavioral expectations to students and parents.Actively monitor behavior, provide constructive feedback, and create an organized learning environment.Efficiently handle transitions and manage emergency situations as needed.Professional Demeanor and Development
