Brief Summary :
The Cut Off Operator assists Weld Mill Operator with changeovers, set up and splicing on the tube mill.
Responsibilities :
- Changeover and set up mills.
- Operate lower end of the mill (Saw), continuously monitor pipe size, ovality, length, straightness, inside flash and quality of product being produced.
- Set up stencil equipment.
- Perform maintenance on mills as required.
- Communicate and work with Mill Operator on a team basis.
- Basic housekeeping in general work area.
- Responsible for completing any assignments given by Supervisor, even those assignments not specifically listed in this job description.
Qualifications :
High School Diploma, OR Equivalency Certificate, (GED, etc.)One to three months equivalent experience in related field OR , Proof of training in an area related to the job assignmentReasonable knowledge in hand-held measuring devices, micrometers, measuring tapes, go / no-go gauges, grinding, operation of thickness gauges and depth gaugesModerate to Advanced PC Skills in Microsoft Applications, i.e., MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPointAble to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to follow job and safety requirements.High frequency welding experience desired.Working Conditions :
This position requires frequent communication, both written and oral.The work environment for this position is primarily in a manufacturing plant with loud noise from heavy machinery, grease, and dirt.There may be exposed to adverse weather conditions, extreme cold and heat, handling hazardous chemicals, bad odors, dirt, and dust.Workers will be required to sit or stand for long periods of time, walk long distances and work in confined spaces.Work might involve pushing, pulling, and lifting heavy materials.Position requires the use of personal protective equipment.
