Job Description
The Marine Corps Officer Programs provide highly qualified college students and graduates the opportunity to earn a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. This is a competitive selection process that evaluates applicants on leadership, academic performance, physical fitness, and moral character.
Undergraduate and current law students may apply through the Platoon Leaders Class (PLC) while college and law school graduates may apply through the Officer Candidates Course (OCC). Selected applicants attend Officer Candidates School (OCS) in Quantico, Virgina, where they must demonstrate the leadership and character required to earn the title, Marine Officer.
Marine Officers lead Marines in diverse fields including aviation, law, logistics, intelligence, ground combat, and engineering. They are expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity, courage, and commitment while serving as leaders of America's finest fighting force.
These programs are the starting point of a career as a United States Marine Corps Officer. Those who succeed will join a proud tradition of leadership, with many former Marine Officers becoming senior military leaders, ambassadors, judges, pilots, business executives, and community leaders.
