The Director of Operations for the Western Region will oversee multi-million-dollar construction operations, providing senior-level leadership across strategic growth, operational performance, and organizational development. This role focuses on delivering construction projects to government clients efficiently and compliantly, while driving revenue, margin, and safety objectives. You will leverage data-driven insights to optimize operational processes, manage high-performing teams, and ensure adherence to regulatory and contractual standards. The position requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a proven track record in government contracting. Accountabilities

  • Manage regional growth strategies, supporting business development to increase market share, pursue up-sell / cross-sell opportunities, and review / approve RFPs.
  • Oversee full contract lifecycle from startup to operational execution, ensuring high-quality, compliant service delivery.
  • Develop and execute data-driven operational strategies, monitor KPIs, and identify opportunities for improvement in revenue, margin, utilization, and safety.
  • Lead people strategies, including employee development, culture building, and HR process support across the region.
  • Conduct jobsite visits and inspections, implement corrective actions, and monitor overall contract performance.
  • Manage relationships with contractors and alliance partners, including issue resolution and implementation of partnership plans.
  • Provide contract support and interpretation, including negotiating modifications with government personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in government contracting, construction operations, and financial management.
  • Professional certifications such as PE, PMP, or CM preferred.
  • Advanced leadership, business development, and strategic planning skills.
  • Strong knowledge of government contracting regulations (FAR, DFARS) and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters and recommend independent solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic mindset with data-driven decision-making abilities.
  • Must pass OSHA 10-hour safety course.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
