About the job Remote Data Entry Operator
We are looking for a data entry clerk to enter information into our database from paper documents. The ideal candidate will be computer literate and a fast typist with a good eye for detail. You will report to a data manager or other senior member of the data team. Knowledge of data confidentiality principles is mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Transfer data from paper formats to computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders or optical scanners.
- Enter data provided directly by clients.
Create spreadsheets with large number of figures without errors.
Verify data against source documents.Update existing data.Retrieve data from database or electronic files as requested.Perform periodic backups to ensure data preservation.Sort and organize documentation after data entry to ensure data is not lost.Qualifications and Skills
Proven experience as a data entry clerk.Fast typing skills; Knowledge of touch typing system strongly preferred.Excellent knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet tools (MS Office, Word, Excel, etc.).Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices.Basic knowledge of databases.Good command of English, both oral and written, and customer service skills.Strong attention to detail.High school diploma or equivalent.
