JOB SUMMARY
The position is responsible for working closely with the Project Manager to assist in functions associated with planning, organizing; including monitoring project schedules and budgets while ensuring projects are executed to achieve projected job schedule and monitor for compliance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Support the Project Manager in :
Plan, organize, and control assigned aspects of a project;
Monitor project schedules and budgets;Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel's performance);Implement assignments and activities delegated from the Project ManagerUpdate schedules and implement adjustments when necessaryAssist in developing cost estimates for additional work or contract modificationsReview engineered drawings for consistency with work scope and adequately address input from project supervisorsEnsure that all man hour control is being implemented properly; Engineering Change Notices are being identified and reported to the Project ManagerPrepare progress reports and maintain filing system for all technical information associated with the projectUpdate project management team on project outcomes, deliverables, potential concerns and project needsAssist in maintaining project documentationTurn in submittals from subcontractors for approvalCooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical supportUnderstand appropriate building codes / regulationsCoordinate project change-order management, creation and negotiation as neededAssist the project team with site safety documentation and coordinationAssist the project team with closeout of the projectAbility to work in multiple discipline projectsEnsure compliance of all safety procedures and policies while promoting the Company's safety culturePerforms other duties as requested, directed, or assignedEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum High School Diploma or GED requiredBachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred4+ years of experience in related field requiredKnowledge of construction activities as related to engineering disciplines, cost and schedulingSKILLS / KEY COMPETENCIES
Working knowledge of applicable construction codes, policies, standards, and best practices.Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and employees at all levels.Strong communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to read, understand, and interpret contract documents such as scopes of work, and project schedule.Exercise discretion and independent judgement when handling day to day information.Must be proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.Excellent time-management skills to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities to meet deadlines and adjust to changing priorities.Ability to work cooperatively across all levels delivering on commitments - results oriented.Strong analytical skills required to understand and interpret data.Ability to complete work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.Ability to work under pressure to meet department targets and deadlines.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams).Ability to quickly learn the organizations systems.Must be able to work non-routine hours, when necessary.Must have a valid, unexpired driver's license.Ability and willingness to travel as required for out-of-town travel assignments.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Will work in an office and job site setting (indoors / outdoors).Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity.Constantly perform repeating motions that may include feet, leg, wrists, hands and / or fingers.Frequently communicate with other members of the team.
