Senior P & C Designer

Overview

GFT is seeking an experienced Substation P & C Designer to join our Power Group. This position can be fully REMOTE for the right candidate.

Join the power team at GFT to work on projects that drive the future of energy infrastructure, including power transmission, distribution, and renewable energy. This role focuses on protection and control design for high voltage substations up to 765 kV.

Responsibilities

• Design and execution of high-voltage substation projects in the 4 kV 765 kV range with emphasis on project safety, cost, quality, and reliability
• Generate designs and detailed engineering deliverables under the supervision of lead engineer and project manager
• Perform basic engineering calculations related to design deliverables
• Develop one- and three-line diagrams; schematics and wiring diagrams; control and relay panel layout and specifications; wiring diagrams; SCADA interfaces including RTUs, HMIs and IEDs; auxiliary system design including batteries and chargers
• Compile complete list of relay and control materials for substation projects and quote / order materials per contractual agreements
• Follow supervisor instructions for more complex design assignments
• Review new and existing substation drawings to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements
• Travel to job sites for project assessment and data collection as needed
• Communicate and interact with clients
• Perform quality reviews of projects completed by peers

The salary range for this role is $85,000 $100,000, dependent on experience and geographic location.
