Senior Director, Business Evolution Strategic Development
Role may sit at one of these US-based Corporate Regional Offices : North Chicago, NJ, Boston, D.C. The BESD Team develops and executes forward-looking strategies to ensure AbbVie’s readiness for potential changes in the healthcare environment. Reports to the Vice President, BESD.

Responsibilities
- Lead the assessment and strategy development to navigate pharmaceutical price reform in the US today and in the future, and consider new ideas and strategies that support AbbVie’s objectives.
- Spearhead the development and execution of integrated, environment-shaping strategies and business-readiness plans through collaboration with cross-functional teams and external experts.
- Foster a highly collaborative, high-impact working environment to advance actionable strategies that support business goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (Government Affairs, Market Access, Legal, Finance, Corporate Affairs) to align and drive key strategies toward objectives and milestones.
- Coordinate analysis, discussion and co-creation of ideas among cross-functional working groups.
- Monitor and analyze external environment, including political, regulatory, legislative, and market dynamics related to price reform; understand stakeholder actions and behaviors.
- Evaluate opportunities that unlock business value and prepare business cases to accelerate innovative solutions, competitiveness, and impact.
- Keep senior leaders and AbbVie stakeholders informed of cross-functional progress and updates on external environment and potential impacts.
Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in business consulting, government affairs, public policy, advocacy, or market access within pharma, trade associations, government agencies, think tanks, or management consulting.Strong business acumen with experience shaping policy and business outcomes; ability to align strategies with enterprise objectives.Exceptional communications, executive presence, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills; ability to influence without authority; strong writing and organizational abilities; adaptable to changing requirements.Political sensitivity and integrity; ability to engage with senior leaders, third parties, policymakers and others.Team-oriented, collaborative, and capable of thriving in a demanding culture.Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.Additional Information
