• Pass the required Prophecy Dysrhythmia Exam prior to acceptance.
• Experience in Emergency Room / Trauma.
• Flexible with varying start times for shifts.

Description :

This position requires working in a fast-paced Emergency Room environment.

Unit consists of 31 beds.

Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 3-4.

Charge Nurse and Unit Secretary support available on the floor.

Paramedics assist with IVs and tech duties, while CNAs handle tech responsibilities.

Weekend work is required every other weekend.

Two of three major holidays must also be worked during the holiday season.

Current scrub color for staff is navy.

Telemetry equipment includes GE Lifepacks monitors.

Ventilators used include Puritan Bennett 840, Draeger, Vision BiPAP, and V60s.

There are 2-6 Physicians and 2-4 mid-level providers in-house.

An IV Team is available, with support from paramedics.

Respiratory therapy and pharmacy services are available 24 / 7.

Floating between two Emergency Room locations may be necessary.

Floor-specific orientation lasts 2-3 days.

Common cases include motor vehicle accidents, gunshot wounds, strokes, myocardial infarctions, high-risk obstetrics, and psych holds.

The pediatric population consists of 11%, with stabilization and transfer protocols for patients under 15 years old.

Cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shift cancellations during the 13-week assignment.

Charting is done using an electronic medical record system.
