Data Modeler (Jersey City)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Data Modeler with expertise in designing, implementing, and optimizing data models within the insurance domain . The candidate will be responsible for translating complex business requirements into robust conceptual, logical, and physical data models that support insurance operations, including policy administration, claims, underwriting, billing, and regulatory compliance. The role requires strong experience with Erwin Data Modeler or similar tools, deep knowledge of insurance data processes, and the ability to work closely with business and technical stakeholders to ensure data integrity, scalability, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Data Modeling & Design

• Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for insurance applications and systems (claims, policy, underwriting, billing, reinsurance, etc.).
• Build and maintain enterprise data models aligned with insurance industry standards (e.g., ACORD).
• Define data dictionaries, metadata, and relationships to support data governance and consistency.
• Ensure data models are optimized for both transactional (OLTP) and analytical (OLAP) systems .

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Works in a normal office environment requiring light physical effort by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and / or up to 10 pounds frequently. Works with standard office equipment (such as phone, fax, and personal computer). Ability to navigate stairs frequently during the course of a business day in various work locations. Sitting at desk for most of day, and working with computer.
