Responsibilities Work in a hospital-based Neuro Med / Surg unit Day shifts from 7 : 00 AM to 7 : 30 PM, three 12-hour shifts per week Care for patients with mild to severe brain injuries due to stroke, trauma, or surgery Level 1 Trauma experience required EPIC EMR system is used on the unit Provide comprehensive care for neuro Med / Surg patients including assessment, plan of care development, and timely intervention for neurological changes Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members and participate in patient care coordination Perform detailed documentation, hourly rounding, admission / discharge processes, patient and family education, and safety protocol adherence Complete initial and ongoing patient assessments and delegate tasks as appropriate Maintain a positive, team-oriented and patient-centered work environment Compliance with departmental competencies and unit standards is required Requests for time off during the contract may not exceed 7 days Travel partners are not accepted for this assignment Travelers may not work more than one year continuously at the facility without converting or taking a six-month break before returning Requirements Active Illinois RN license, temp license accepted Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience required Associate’s degree in nursing required; BSN preferred Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required Documented Level 1 Trauma unit experience required Demonstrated experience with EPIC charting required Must live at least 50 miles from the facility (no local candidates accepted) Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-614785.
