Overview

Emerald is seeking a Publisher to lead advertising sales and revenue strategy for Hospitality Design (HD) magazine and its digital platforms. As the flagship voice of Emerald's Design Group , HD is the definitive resource for hospitality design professionals – connecting designers, architects, hoteliers, and product manufacturers who shape the future of the built environment.

The Publisher serves as the senior commercial leader for HD's media business, with responsibility for overall sales strategy, top advertiser relationships, and brand positioning in the marketplace. This role requires a strategic thinker who can balance hands-on selling with leadership, driving growth while collaborating with editorial and marketing leadership to ensure HD's continued market leadership.

This position is based out of our Alpharetta, GA office.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all advertising and partnership sales across print, digital, and custom content channels
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to grow revenue and strengthen HD's market position
  • Manage senior-level client relationships, serving as a trusted partner to product manufacturers, design firms, and hospitality brands
  • Partner with editorial leadership to align sales with editorial calendars, special issues, and content initiatives
  • Identify new media products and advertiser solutions that expand HD's offering
  • Act as HD's senior commercial ambassador to the design industry, representing the brand in client meetings and industry forums
  • Provide forecasting, pipeline management, and revenue reporting via CRM

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressive media or publishing sales experience, ideally within design, architecture, or hospitality
  • Strong track record of delivering advertising revenue across print and digital platforms
  • Well-established senior-level relationships within the design or hospitality ecosystem strongly preferred
  • Strategic thinker with entrepreneurial drive and consultative selling skills
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with presence to represent the HD brand at the highest level
  • Experience developing integrated, content-driven advertiser solutions

    Compensation & Benefits

    Base pay range : $110,000.00 / yr - $120,000.00 / yr

    Target Compensation : $110,000-120,000 (sales incentive eligible). Note that this range reflects a reasonable estimate of target compensation and may vary based on qualifications and applicable law.
