PCU RN Job Details

Location : Laurinburg, NC 28352 (North Carolina nursing jobs)

Assignment Type : Travel Nursing

Unit : Progressive Care Unit (PCU / ICU Stepdown)

Start Date : November 17, 2025

End Date : February 16, 2026

Duration : 13-week contract

Shifts : 3x12-hour day shifts (7 : 00 AM – 7 : 00 PM)

Hours per Week : 36

Number of Openings : 3

On-Call : Required

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1650 - $1770

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of recent PCU or ICU stepdown nursing experience

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – State of North Carolina or Compact

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (CPI preferred)

Previous charge nurse experience required

Epic charting system experience strongly preferred

Ability to manage patient ratios of 4-5

COVID-19 vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions considered)

Two professional references from the past two years

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the PCU / ICU stepdown unit

Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias

Administer blood products, cardiac drips, and vasoactive drips (no titration)

Perform central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and phlebotomy

Manage feeding tubes, surgical drains, tracheostomy care, and oxygen therapy (including HFNC, CPAP / BIPAP)

Respond to rapid response / code team activations

Float within the hospital as needed

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services

Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR
