We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our team in Alexandria, Virginia. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in overseeing key financial operations for a non-profit organization. This is a hands-on position that offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful financial processes while supporting organizational goals. This is a short-term contract opportunity.
Responsibilities :
- Process payroll on a semi-monthly and bi-weekly basis.
- Manage accrual accounts.
- Oversee deferred revenue.
- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure consistency across accounts.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, providing insights for decision-making.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analyses to support various projects and initiatives.
- Proficiency in month-end close processes and procedures.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting.
- Experience with bank reconciliations, ensuring financial accuracy.
- Solid understanding of accrual accounting principles.
- Familiarity with financial reporting standards and practices.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Prior experience in a non-profit environment is a plus.
