Our vibrant senior living community, Courtyard at Mt. Tabor, is looking for a dedicated Full-Time Director of Wellness Programming to join our team of Senior Living Warriors! In this role, you'll lead the development and coordination of engaging programs that promote residents' physical, emotional, and social well-being. Job Summary :
The responsibility of the Director of Wellness Programming is to plan, prepare, and direct the overall operation of the resident and family engagement along with overseeing the resident enrichment department and MBK signature programs in accordance with current federal, state, and local guidelines, standards, and regulations, along with MBK's established policies and procedures. This position is also responsible for ensuring the program of activities are designed to meet the interest, and the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each resident. This role helps support our pursuit to be the senior living provider of choice in every market we serve.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
Hire, train, set performance goals and timelines, monitor performance and provide coaching for :Activities Assistant =1 to 3 employeesTransportation (Drivers) = 1 to 3 employeesMBK Fit = 1 to 3 employeesDuties & Responsibilities :
Create an environment in the community that promotes residents and families' participation in the provided activities including :Create, implement and lead resident programs according to program standards and resident preferencesCreate and submit a monthly calendar of eventsCreate and submit a monthly newsletter for residents, staff, and familiesCreate and maintain social media under the umbrella of MBK's Home OfficeCoordinate with other Team Members the planning, execution, and attending special functions, such as holidays and celebratory eventsConduct survey of residents to determine what activities are of interest to themFacilitate resident activity planning committee to ensure resident participation in calendar developmentOversee transportation of residents including :Assist with the safe loading, unloading, seating, and transporting of residents onto and off community vehicles and drive residents as neededOversee scheduling of transportation for recreational and medical outingsEvaluate transportation program on a regular basis to ensure customer satisfactionUnderstand and fulfill all State, Federal and local regulations for maintaining safe vehicles, securing all required credentials / licensing for vehicle(s) and driver(s)Manage employees and volunteersRecruit, hire, train, motivate, and supervise department staff in accordance with all company policies, procedures, and core valuesDevelop and train volunteers who are in the community to assist with activities or special eventsTrack volunteer participation and keep volunteer files per state regulationsArrange for outside vendors to conduct programs and process invoices promptlyCultivate external partnerships that support resident engagement and brand value in the communityDevelop goals, measure performance, and monitor complianceManage department budget and spending, and grow programming to align with revenue goalsEncourage and invite resident participation in all resident activities for maximum impact to resident wellnessWork with director of health services to ensure caregiver involvement in programs meets expectationsFacilitate and conduct resident programs within connections for living as applicableAid in the community marketing efforts through positive interactions with residents, families, and guests and obtaining minimum online reviewsAlert care staff when there is a medical or care need of a resident, participate in quality assurance programEnsure resident information such as traditions and preferences are collected per policy utilizing Lifestyle Survey toolEnsure wellness programming for assisted living and connections for living residents is compliant with Oregon Administrative RulesNon-Essential Job Duties :Perform other duties or special projects as assigned / directed by the Executive DirectorInstruct visitors to sign in when entering our communityObtain and maintain all state required certifications and licensureMeet with prospective residents to review the enrichment programs and offerings at the communityConduct community tours for prospects and familiesEducation Requirements :
High school diploma or GEDBachelor's Degree in recreational therapy, gerontology, music, art or similar is preferableExperience Requirements (in years) :
Prior related work experience, in a similar environment is highly desirablePrior supervisory or lead working experience is preferableRequired Competencies / Licenses / Certifications :
Microsoft Suite competency.Certification in Recreational Activity Leadership : APNCC / NAAPCC Certification or similarWorking familiarity with several special Microsoft Office Suite software programs (e.g. Publisher and Photoshop) is highly desirableCompliance and understanding of all regulations regarding residents' rightsCompletion of, or ability to obtain State approved Activity Director CertificationMust be over the age 18Background clearance is required (per government regulations)Excellent communication skills are required including the ability to speak, write and read EnglishMust have solid pc skills and be familiar with several Microsoft Office Suite software programs (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, Email, etc.), and other office equipment (e.g. scanners, copiers, and fax machines)Must maintain a professional demeanor at all times, especially while interfacing with other Team Members, residents, family members, and visitorsMust present a positive image, by follow all grooming and dress standards
