Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT)
is responsible for
performing specialized electroencephalographic (EEG), neurodiagnostic, and polysomnographic (PSG) procedures to collect critical diagnostic data for detecting brain, cardiovascular, and sleep disorders. The technologist will also
participate
in facility and departmental process improvement initiatives while delivering high-quality patient care.
Position Responsibilities
Conduct EEG, neurodiagnostic, and PSG procedures using specialized monitoring equipment.
Record observations and collect diagnostic patient data for physician interpretation.
Ensure proper setup, calibration, and operation of sleep lab equipment.
Accurately document patient information, procedures, and test results.
Work independently to monitor patients and respond to emergencies when necessary.
Collaborate with the care team to improve patient outcomes and support quality initiatives.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED required;
Bachelor's
degree preferred.
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential required.
Minimum of 3 years of full-time experience as a Registered PSG Tech in an accredited lab.
Strong computer skills with multiple software systems; knowledge of general office procedures.
Ability to work independently under minimal supervision and handle stressful situations effectively.
Licenses & Certifications
RPSGT credential from the BRPT required; CCSH preferred.
Current CPR certification (must be
maintained
as a condition of employment).
Working Conditions
Must be able to see with or without corrective eyewear and hear clearly with or without assistance.
May be exposed to infectious diseases and work with patients under varying conditions.
Requires the ability to respond to emergency or crisis situations.
May involve irregular hours and the use of protective equipment when necessary.
