Communications Manager
The City of Marysville is hiring a highly-motivated Communications Manager to oversee all citywide communications, public relations, and marketing efforts. This experienced professional will report directly to the City Manager within the Administration department and will exercise independent judgment as the principal figure responsible for these functions. This is an exempt, salaried position with a competitive benefits package and a compensation range of $65,000 to $87,500, commensurate with the successful candidate's qualifications.
Job Responsibilities
The role's responsibilities are divided into four key areas :
Serves as the principal advisor to the City Manager and officials on the dissemination of information.
Plans, coordinates, and implements all PI activities, including writing news releases and handling media inquiries.
Maintains the City website and social media platforms for timely, accurate, and accessible content.
Coordinates and oversees employee and citizen surveys.
Job Requirements
An Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Communication, or a related field is preferred. Must have at least 5 years of experience as a Public Information Clerk, Communications Officer, and / or an Administrative Assistant dealing with public information. Executive or senior level experience is a plus. Municipal experience is a plus.
